Roy L. Gordon, M.D., is a Professor of Radiology for Interventional Radiology in the Department of Radiology at UCSF.  Dr. Gordon holds a BA degree from Oxford University in England an MA degree from Middlesex Hospital Medical School and a BM BCh degree from the University of London and Oxford University.  He completed a radiology residency at Hadassah University Hospital, Jerusalem, Israel and University of Pennsylvania followed by a fellowship in angiography and interventional radiology at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Gordon’s current interests include biliary tract interventions, treatment of uterine fibroids by embolization and the development of the use of expandable metallic stents for treatment of airway obstruction.

He introduced Interventional Radiology at Hadassah Hospital where he was Chief of Interventional Radiology. He then became Chief of the Radiology Department. He was a Visiting Professor for one year at the University of Pennsylvania.

Interests and Projects
His main interests are in Interventional Radiology of the Biliary Tract, TIPS, application of expandible metallic stents for treatment of benign airway obstructions and transcatheter intravascular embolotherapy. Current projects include evaluation of new stents in different locations and the treatment of uterine fibroids by embolization.
