Events

Community events are an important means through which members of the UCSF radiology community stay in touch and keep abreast of developments in radiology at UCSF.

The Margulis Society continues its tradition of holding an annual Gala, including a silent auction and grand raffle. These elegant events enable current and former faculty, fellows, and residents to stay in touch and enjoy an evening in San Francisco meeting with old friends and colleagues. The proceeds from these events benefit radiology education at UCSF.

Career Conference

The Margulis Societys 7th Annual Resident and Fellow Career Conference took place in October 2006 at the UCSF Faculty Alumni House. Speaking at the career conference were Bonnie N. Joe, MD and Jessica Leung, MD, from the Department of Radiology and Scott A. Lipson, MD, Frank D. Mainzer, MD, Alexander Mark, MD, and Christopher J. Schultz, MD from private practice. Smeeta Rishi, an attorney specializing in medical practice law, added her perspective on the legal issues involved in physician contracts.

Dr. Erik Gaensler directed the conference. One attendee, Jane Wang, MD (a 2006 alumna and currently a clinical fellow in the Abdominal Imaging Section) noted that the Margulis Career Conference offers great opportunities to gain insights into the career paths of the alumni and current faculty members. They all have interesting stories to tell.
