Alekos Theologis is a second-year medical student at UCSF. He isworking on two projects. The first involves the use of T1ρ MRI at 3Tesla to characterize and quantitate the biochemical and morphologicalproperties of the repaired tissue following mosaicplasty andmicrofracture procedures. The second project involves the longitudinalquantification of the biochemical and morphological properties of bonemarrow edema-like lesions and the associated overlying cartilage usingT1ρ MRI at 3 Tesla to assess the clinical significance of BMEL and theprogression of cartilage degeneration in acute ACL-injured knees.
