Pat Byrd was the Research Administration Manager for the Department of Radiology for several years. Following her retirement, she came back to Radiology part-time to work on special projects. She joined MQIR in March 2006 and is currently overseeing the grant, personnel and policy aspects of the group. Pat is closely involved in planning MQIR's growth and building the infrastructure for the group.

Melissa Guan graduated from San Francisco State University in 2004 with a B.S. in Business Administration, concentrating on financial services and corporate finance. She started working for the Department of Radiology in March 2005 as a faculty assistant, then accepted an administrative assistant position a year later. The major part of her job is to assist the academic coordinator with managing the day-to-day conduct of Federal and industry sponsored research projects.

Idonnah Hipolito joined MQIR in early 2008. Among her many, varied duties, she provides scheduling, travel and purchasing support to the Majumdar and Kurhanewicz labs.

Thelma Munoz, M.D., Academic Coordinator

Thelma Munoz, M.D., completed her family medicine training in the Philippines. She is responsible for the day-to-day conduct and coordination of MQIR’s clinical studies, including oversight of all regulatory activities and compliance. She also manages and streamlines patient throughput for MQIR and other clinical collaborators.

Susan Lin joined the financial team in late 2005. She joined the MQIR team in mid-2006. She provides post-award grant management support to the Department of Radiology.

 

Marisa

Marisa Thorne joined MQIR in 2007. She manages all administrative functions for the group, including coordinating new hires, preparing job descriptions and overseeing the training of the administrative staff.

 

Martin

Martin Wong, Administrative Assistant

Martin Wong graduated from San Francisco State University with a B.S. degree in Economics. His career path has included financial services consulting, real estate investing and gourmet food services. He provides administrative support for a number of recharge activities, including the In vivo CT, the MicroCT, the 3 Tesla MR at China Basin, the 1.5 Tesla MR at Mt. Zion, the Research CT at China Basin, Biostatistical Analysis Consulting, DensitometryAnalysis, the Cyclotron at China Basin, and the Animal 7 Tesla.
