Thomas Lang is a Professor in Residence in the UCSF Department of Radiology and the UCSF/UC Berkeley Joint Bioengineering Graduate Group. He received his BA in Chemistry from the University of Chicago in 1983, and a PhD in Chemistry from UC Berkeley in 1990. After completing a postdoctoral fellowship with Professor Bruce Hasegawa in the UCSF Radiology Department, Dr Lang worked as a Nuclear Medicine Physicist at ADAC Laboratories in Milpitas CA. Dr Lang joined the UCSF Faculty as an Assistant Adjunct Professor in 1994. As a faculty member at UCSF, Dr Lang's core interest is the use of quantitative computed technology and other clinically available imaging modalities in the study of human musculoskeletal biology.

Wenjun Li, Ph.D.

Associate Specialist

Ph.D. in physics from University of Texas

wenjun.li@radiology.ucsf.edu

(415) 353-4932

Wenjun Li obtained his Ph.D. in physics from University of Texas at Austin in August 2003 (in the field of computational physics) and an M.S. degree in computer science from Texas State University-San Marcos. Since joining UCSF in August 2003, Dr. Li has been working on medical image analysis of hip and spine QCT images. Dr. Li's current research focuses on developing automatic 3D volumetric image registration methods for characterizing bone properties based on intra- as well as inter-subject registration techniques.

danaDana Carpenter, Ph.D.

Associate Specialist

Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Stanford
