The UCSF Postdoctoral Fellowship Training Program in Diagnostic Neuroradiology is ACGME accredited and designed to provide two years of postgraduate training for board certified radiologists interested in pursuing an academic career in neuroradiology. Individuals spend two years to acquire competence in clinical aspects of neuroradiology, to complete meaningful research projects and to fulfill senior membership requirements for the American Society of Neuroradiology.
During their fellowship, neuroradiology fellows spend at least two months per year on the diagnostic / interventional angiography service at UCSF, participating in approximately 100 cases per year. In addition, fellows perform all spine interventional procedures including transforaminal nerve blocks, epidural blood patches, biopsies, discography, spine injection, as well as CT and MRI studies with close attending physician supervision. Close interaction with the Departments of Neurosurgery, Neurology, Otolaryngology, Pediatrics, Vascular Surgery, Neuropathology and Orthopedics provides a unique experience and an educational foundation in allied sciences.
