Imaging Research Symposium

The Imaging Research Symposium is the annual research symposium of the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging. The first symposium was held in 2004. It is normally a half-day event held in Mid-September. The symposium covers all areas of imaging research within Radiology and at UCSF in general. The imaging modalities include CT, MR, PET, SPECT, MEG, EEG, optical imaging and ultrasound. The research interest areas include but are not limited to cancer (brain, breast, prostate, etc), neurodegenerative diseases, musculoskeletal diseases, cardiovascular diseases, medical informatics and image processing, MR/CT contrast agent development, etc. The symposium is composed primarily of two parts:

  • Review of research of selected research interest groups (RIGs) or specialized resources groups (SRGs)
  • Selected research presentations (oral and poster) based on abstract submission.

The symposium committee encourages the presentation of work in all areas of imaging research from all faculty, research staff, residents, fellows, post-docs and students. The committee invites participation from all imaging researchers and their collaborators.
