The Radiology department offers web services and support to all faculty, residents, and staff in needs with their web projects.

The following are the services and support we offer:

How to request for web services

  1. Be familiar with the Radiology, UCSF and public policies on web activities.
    Please visit our policies page.
  2. Keep in mind department's information versus public information, and HIPPA!!
  3. Be prepared to answer questions about your web project:
    • Ultimate achievement of your project
    • Functional requirements
    • Design requirements
    • Maintainability requirements

The Web Infrastructure

The UCSF Radiology web sites are developed and maintained on its own servers. Presently the Radiology department has 3 Sun servers for web activities. Their configuration is as follows:

  • For increased security all servers are behind a firewall administrated by Todd Bazzill, and connected to the PACS’ UPS. All servers are backed up daily per Mark Day’ system wide backup schema.

    In addition the Radiology department also has a streaming server hosted on the radiology file server (Mac OSX) administered by Matt Denton.
