Biography

Jessica C. Tan, MD, is an Assistant Clinical Professor in Residence in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at the University of California, San Francisco and San Francisco General Hospital. She received her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco in 2006, and she completed a one-year transitional internship from the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, California in 2007. From 2007-2011, Dr. Tan completed her Diagnostic Radiology residency from the University of California, San Diego, followed by a Neuroradiology fellowship from the UCSF in 2012. In June 2013, Dr. Tan accepted the position of Assistant Clinical Professor of Neuroradiology at SFGH.

As an attending physician, Dr. Tan provides neuroradiology services at SFGH where she supervises radiology residents in protocoling and interpreting diagnostic neuroradiology exams. She gives lectures for radiology residents and neuroradiology fellows. Dr. Tan’s main research interest is in stroke imaging and disorders of CSF flow such as intracranial hypotension. She is also interested in vascular imaging in the setting of acute trauma and imaging of carotid plaque.

Dr. Tan has provided her clinical services nationally and internationally. She is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the American Society of Head and Neck Radiology, the American Society of Neuroradiology, and the Association of Women Radiologists. She has written 4 peer-reviewed articles and 10 abstracts.
