Christine M. Glastonbury Named Secretary-Treasurer of the American Roentgen Ray Society

Christine Glastonbury, MBBSChristine M. Glastonbury, MBBS, of UC San Francisco Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging was elected Secretary-Treasurer of the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) during the opening ceremony of the 2023 ARRS Annual Meeting in Honolulu, HI. Dr. Glastonbury has served on the ARRS Executive Council since 2017. ARRS leadership also includes Erik K. Paulson, MD, the 123rd President of the society; Angelisa M. Paladin, MD, President-Elect; and Deborah A. Baumgarten, MD, Vice President.

A longtime advocate for initiatives to improve work-life balance for radiology faculty, Dr. Glastonbury chaired an ARRS Wellness Summit panel titled "Preserving precious people" to discuss ways to support faculty and teams in radiology. She was also a panelist for a discussion titled "Boots, Shoes, Flip-Flops and Sandals – The Pebbles That Found Their Way In," on removing the annoyances that make our work difficult, and was co-director of the Categorical Course on Pitfalls in Radiology, chairing the Neuroradiology portion.

Dr. Glastonbury is a Professor of Clinical Radiology with joint appointments in the departments of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, and Radiation Oncology, and currently serves as Vice Chair of the UCSF Senate Committee on Committees. In Radiology, she is Vice Chair for Academic Affairs and Director of Mentoring, Chair of the Radiology Merits and Promotions committee, a member of the Diversity Committee, and a co-founder of UCSF RadWomen, a department initiative that champions career growth and opportunity for women radiologists.
